Legally,
it is the responsibility of the landlord to offer a well maintained housing
satisfying all requirements of the tenant including water, electricity, heat, and
weatherproofing, sanitary, clean and safe premises. In different states, there
are different tenant needs landlords have to satisfy. In some states, landlords
have to provide proper ventilation, smoke detectors, and also, ensure safety
and security of the residential building.
Tenants
have the responsibility of keeping the property clean and maintained. If they
